HostPrepaid partners with other web hosts! NonCompare.com is a web hosting company that unlike other hosts who sell to everybody at large, instead focuses on hosting for specific industries. Instead of going wide and for "breadth", NonCompare.com goes for "depth" and zeroes-in on explicit industries (like real-estate, say, or automobile retailers, financial companies, and others) to host for them, but also (unlike other hosts) helps clients with their content that are specific to their particular industries, such as giving them access to articles, studies and links to directories that pertain directly to their industry and business.

NonCompare.com's clients are given access to its member-only Content Resource Area (CRA) which contains whole texts, diagrams, research material, links, and other assets that they can use to plug-in or build into their websites.

NonCompare.com researches each category and industry beforehand, obtains information and relevant data (including trends, studies, articles, etc.) and in turn offers these to its hosting clients in case they wish to avail of these packaged services to incorporate into their own website. And most of its clients do. One of the many reasons why NonCompare.com is, well, noncompare.

   

NonCompare management decided that the company's core competency is both in hosting and domain expertise development (focus on specific industries/category), the latter of which is what differentiates and sets them apart from other hosts.

Thus, they want to be the best at what they do, and be the best in everything else, including areas that are not their fields of expertise. So when it came to the design of their own website, they decided to outsource it to the experts, instead of attempting to do it in-house, which, while they were sure was something they can do, they also knew that the experts in the field of design can do even better.

Their principle is that the only thing that matters is that they produce and use only the best for their company, and especially for their clients. What matters isn't if they did it in-house or not, because the only thing that matters is the results, and that they produce only the best for their clients. Across the board. So if there are tasks that were not in their areas of expertise, they would outsource it to a supplier. That way they could focus on what they do best, and still produce only the best overall by working with suppliers like HostPrepaid. The design of their website fit perfectly into this situation, and later on, the also obtained a resellership with HostPrepaid in providing design services to clients that were outsourced to HostPrepaid.

   

In their own words, NonCompare.com wanted to "have their cake and eat it too," wanting to have a website of very high quality that projected credibility so that prospects would not hesitate to do business with them. But they were also in a hurry to set it up, and wanted to have their website up in a very short period of time. They were willing to pay top dollar for it. But if someone were to provide what many considered the "impossible", of a low-cost solution, so much the better.

What's more, they wanted to find another web host, who can serve as their backup support site in the off-chance that the network they are in suffers any type of outage. This latter threat hasn't happened to them but is something that they wanted to do as a precautionary measure, because accidents happen, and if their main network went down, they had an alternative support host partner that they and their clients can have peering access to.

   

They broke down their problem into three distinct areas to tackle:

  1. Design of their website
    • Finding web design agencies who have not only the expertise, but which should produce very high quality output.
    • Complete design in less than a week.
    • (Where possible) Do web design without the design exceeding $1,000
  2. Peering and separate hosting to serve as their co-peer as well as redundancy connection (independent support site) to another web host

   
  • Very high-quality (very credible and expensive-looking) website design
  • Very reliable web hosting that works side-by-side their own hosting services
  • Completion of design in less than 1 week.
  • Design does not exceed $1,000
   

NonCompare actually had several options. Outside of HostPrepaid, options included:

  1. In-house. NonCompare.com's administration experts knew a thing or two about HTML and using FrontPage. They could be asked to build the sites themselves.
  2. Local web designers and design shops. Like most cities, there were different design houses and artists available to be hired.
  3. Web job sites like eLance showcase different web designers who bid on the project
   

After deliberating on the options, NonCompare management didn't take long to decide on HostPrepaid, the company's favorite right from the get-go. Here's how the "others" were voted out:

In-house designing (#1, above) was passed by because engineers don't make for good artists. NonCompare didn't want just a document-like website that looked like it was done in the cheap and obviously didn't go through the hands of design experts. The company wanted to project credibility and professionalism, and a high-quality, professional website was imperative.

Local web designers were possible candidates to being given the go-signal, but as expected, were either too expensive (some were seeking from $800 to $5,000) and took long, or weren't very good

Web job and freelance sites were nice but were almost exactly like hiring standard web designers (see above), particularly in terms of cost, speed, and quality.

HostPrepaid.com became the obvious choice. HostPrepaid was actually the company's choice from the beginning, but they wanted to explore other possible options. After exploring the options, they finally decided to give the go signal to HostPrepaid and got the conviction that they made an even more informed decision backed by extensive checking. NonCompare management simply chose from the many different design layouts in HostPrepaid's Gallery which were supplied by its own internal designers and professionals, as well as designers, teams and other groups from all over the Web. NonCompare staff supplied their company info, text, images and all the rest to be placed in their site. After that, HostPrepaid handled everything.

   

To put it in as few words as possible: NonCompare.com was able to set-up a professional-grade website up in no time. It looked very credible, was professionally made, projected a strong company, and was hosted in a very secure system. But what was amazing is that when the company prepaid for 12 months for its web hosting, the design was provided by HostPrepaid for free.

For a web hosting company, getting an account with HostPrepaid were for reasons that were different from other clients, but were just as critical, as they were used primarily for backup/redundancy/load-balancing (see above). As NonCompare realized, there were no added costs or surcharges, only benefits and solutions.

   

HostPrepaid's system is unique, powerful and ultimately, of great benefit to clients while solving their web hosting and design requirements well. But what this case study has shown is how HostPrepaid is very flexible that even other web hosts can greatly benefit as well.
